Went back to Singapore this past weekend to get away from the dark and wet Hong Kong weather and to spend time with my niece and nephews before they went back to school.

It was a little bit wet in Singapore but only for about an hour or two each day and then glorious sunshine. We spent a lovely Friday out in Pasir Ris Park, and Saturday baking cookies.

My sister's neighbour has a beautiful garden with a great variety of flora and fauna. A pair of birds had taken to the little garden and built a nest in a low hanging pot of money plant. The chicks hatched the day I arrived. I couldn't quite make out what species they were as the parents were jumpy with strangers. But I managed to get a clear shot of the little ones.

Two weeks ago, I decided to buy myself a belated birthday present. I'd had my mind set on the Canon EOS 350D for the longest time and finally got it. I wasted little time in putting the camera to use. The Hong Kong Park was the first stop. This is my absolute favourite shot so far.

Took a trip to Hanoi last month for a long weekend break. Walked through the wet market by the Melia Hotel and on the counters near one end of the market alley were roast meats which I assumed to be pork until I saw the bared canines.
